ContractorsFromHell.com is launching a new series where I’ll be interviewing homeowners who went through a remodeling disaster, dealt with a dishonest contractor or just plain had a difficult experience with a contractor and project.
I’ll be kicking off the series next month starting with my own remodeling disaster and the problems I encountered. The podcast series will be approximately 30 minutes, once a week, where we’ll hear from homeowners about what they went through, how they dealt with it, and insights into what they did wrong.
We’ll cover some of the do’s and don’ts in each episode so that everyone can learn how to avoid the most common pitfalls of renovating, hiring, and working with contractors.
And you don’t need to worry about naming “names.” You can simply share your challenges and the frustrations you might have gone through and what you learned in hindsight. This is nothing to be ashamed of. Hundreds of thousands of homeowners have gone through some sort of problems with their projects and contractors. Your story will help to shed light on a very common problem homeowners face when they begin a project and need to hire contractors.
My intention for interviewing homeowners for a podcast series is to raise awareness about the realities and risks of renovating and working with contractors when you know little about the contracting and construction process. Education is key and the stories should prove to be just that.
