Of all places in our homes, the bedroom is probably the place we spend the most time. Yes, most of that time, we’re asleep, but this room’s function is incredibly important to our health and vitality. If your current bedroom isn’t providing that, it’s time for some minor renovations. And it doesn’t have to take that much work. Here are the easiest ways to makeover your bedroom.

Rearrange Furniture

It costs nothing at all (except time) to work with what you have. Something as simple as moving things around can have a profound impact on a space. Having to walk in new paths around items will immediately make a space feel almost brand new. Find ways that you can make it feel cozy.

You could shift the bed away from the wall and add another bedside table to the other side, or you could completely move the bed to the opposite side of the room. Each configuration has its benefits and will result in different behaviors or habits. Just be careful at nighttime that you don’t stub a toe!

Purge Everything You Don’t Need

Your bedroom is a sanctuary, not a storage room or (gasp!) a trash bin. If you have things you need to throw away, recycle, donate, or move them to other parts of the house, get this over with ASAP.

Walk around the room and think about what you want to keep vs. what you don’t care for anymore. Getting rid of this unnecessary clutter can do wonders for your headspace and the room’s ambiance.

Paint a Wall

Another easy way to makeover your bedroom is to consider painting a wall or adding a peel-and-stick mural. Color goes a long way in transforming a space, and it can also significantly impact our mood. Find a color or design that makes you feel how you want to feel while in your bedroom, and get designing!

There are many things that a person can do to makeover a bedroom. Some of these can be extravagant and expensive, but your project doesn’t have to be. Start with the basics listed above, and add on from there.
